TERRA FRANCA is produced by Sogrape in the Beiras region (located in the centre of Portugal, with borders to the Douro, Dão and Bairrada denominations of origin).
Tasting Notes
TERRA FRANCA WHITE 2007 is a pale wine with green shades. Young and vibrant, its aroma reminds fresh tropical fruits and green apple. To the mouth it is a fruity wine, with crisp acidity and elegant finish. The elements combine to make it a very appealing and easy to drink white wine.
Serving Suggestions
TERRA FRANCA WHITE is ideal to serve cold, on its own or as an aperitif, at relaxed moments. It also combines extremely well with most seafood, grilled fish and vegetables, fresh salads and some light snacks. Serve in a white wine glass, ideally between 8º-10º C.
Varieties
TERRA FRANCA WHITE is produced exclusively from Portuguese native white grape varieties - Fernão Pires, Bical and Arinto - grown for Sogrape by private growers within the Beiras region in the centre of Portugal.
Winemaking
The selected grapes for the TERRA FRANCA WHITE 2007 were vinified at Sogrape's centrally located and modern equipped wine-centre of Anadia. The hand-picked grapes were de-stemmed, and softly crushed and pressed. The free-run juice obtained fermented in temperature control stainless steel vats, at 14-16ºC so as to keep the wine's freshness and aromatic richness.
Ageing and Storage
The wines selected for this TERRA FRANCA WHITE 2007 were kept for about 2 months in stainless steel vats under the watchful eye of the winemaking team. Following tasting, that helped identifying the best wines, the final blend was made, guaranteeing a consistent style while keeping the character of the year. The final wine was filtered and cold stabilised before bottling so as to preserve its freshness. TERRA FRANCA WHITE is bottled ready to drink and should be stored in a dry and cool place.
