Tasting Notes
TERRA FRANCA ROSÉ 2007 has a lively raspberry colour with pink shades and an intense yet delicate aroma that recalls floral and tropical notes. The mouth is well balanced, light and fresh, with a fine elegant finish. Altogether, a fresh young wine, where all elements combine to make it very appealing and easy to drink.
Serving Suggestions
TERRA FRANCA ROSÉ matches very well with light meals, seafood, fish, grilled white meats, barbecues and most salads. Its characteristics make it also the ideal accompaniment to pastas and various dishes of Italian cuisine. Serve in a white wine glass, ideally between 7º-12º C.
Varieties
TERRA FRANCA ROSÉ is produced exclusively from Portuguese native red grape varieties - Baga, Rufete, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca - grown for Sogrape by private growers within the Beiras region in the centre of Portugal.
Winemaking
The selected grapes for the TERRA FRANCA ROSÉ 2007 were vinified at Sogrape's centrally located and modern equipped
wine-centre of Anadia. The hand-picked grapes were de-stemmed, crushed and pressed resulting in a rich and flavoursome pink coloured juice that fermented in temperature control stainless steel vats, at
14-16ºC so as to keep the wine's freshness and aromatic richness.
Ageing and Storage
The wines selected for this TERRA FRANCA ROSÉ 2007 were kept for about 2 months in stainless steel vats under the watchful eye of the winemaking team. Following tasting, that helped identifying the most suited wines, the final blend was made, guaranteeing a consistent style while keeping the character of the year. The final wine was filtered and cold stabilised before bottling to preserve its freshness. TERRA FRANCA ROSÉ is bottled ready to drink and should
be stored in a dry and cool place.
