Tasting Notes
GRÃO VASCO DÃO WHITE 2005 has a yellow citrus colour. Its dense and intense bouquet recalls ripe fruits such as peach and apricot, with mineral and floral touches, creating an harmony which arouses the senses. A very expressive mouth, where tropical fruits prevail, with an elegant and persistent finish. Appealing in flavour, it is a well structured wine, round and greasy and with a lively acidity in perfect balance with the alcohol.
Serving Suggestions
GRÃO VASCO DÃO WHITE 2005 can be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif, but goes also splendidly with fish and seafood dishes or salads. Ideal temperature : 7º-9º.
Varieties
GRÃO VASCO DÃO WHITE is made with the recommended white grape varieties of the Dão Region - including Bical, Cercial, Malvasia-Fina and Encruzado - supplied by local wine growers in partnership with Sogrape Vinhos.
Winemaking
The grapes for the making of GRÃO VASCO DÃO WHITE underwent stalk-removing and soft crushing in pneumatic presses, separating the must from the skins . The must, protected from oxidation, decants static and naturally at low temperature and is led by gravity into stainless steel fermentation vats with automatic temperature control
and pumping-over. The vinification of the different varieties took place separately in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature of around 16º C for approximately two weeks.
Ageing and Storage
GRÃO VASCO DÃO WHITE is bottled after a short stage of 4 months in stainless steel vats. The bottle must be kept horizontally, in a cool dry place, sheltered from light.
